Owner Jeff Johnson is a native of Alabama. He is a Designer and Timber Framer, 3rd generation in the timber industry, family logging business and silvaculture forestry.
Susan Johnson is a native of Tennessee. She is an Owner and Office Manager of Jeff Johnson Timber Frames.
Ross MacDonald began his woodworking career on a framing, siding and interior trim crew in 1996. In 2001 he was asked to join the timber frame crew of Koenig Home-builders. After gaining 5 years of experience as a joiner Ross took the shop foreman position. In early 2014 Ross came to work for Jeff Johnson Timber Frames where he works as the shop foreman, joiner and designer alongside Jeff. Ross has also been doing computer aided drafting and design for the past 7 years. Over the past 14 years of timber framing Ross has cut and erected over 35 frames in Western North Carolina and the surrounding region.
John Brown is from Corpus Christi Texas. He is a third generation housewright. He has been working with timber frame homes since 2003. He was trained by and worked alongside Ross MacDonald his entire timber framing career.
Gale Smith has worked as a timber framer for 2 years, a framing carpenter for 7 years and a cabinet maker for 32 years. He has built two houses for his own residence. Gale also has an interest in wooden boat building and has attended classes at Wooden Boat School in Brooklin Maine.
Maria Dills is a Native of Franklin, NC. She is our office manager and does some of our timber frame design work alongside Jeff. Maria has two certificates for Quickbooks and her Notary License.
